It is an official legal document issued by an investigative authority (such as the Public Prosecution) that details:
1/ The identity of the accused;
2/ The charge(s) brought against them;
3/ The facts of the case;
4/ The evidence relied upon by the authority (analyses, witness testimony, confessions); and
5/ The statutory provisions alleged to have been violated.
A lawyer or authorized legal representative has the right to review the indictment by submitting a request via the "Najiz" platform (under "Case Requests" > "Request to View Case File"). The court handling the case will then schedule an appointment for the file to be reviewed.
They may also present legal defenses and responses regarding the accusations and evidence contained therein during the trial hearings.
